Poland's latest tender: Signed 870MW solar project
Dec 28, 2021According to the Polish Energy Management Office, in the latest round of renewable energy tenders held earlier this month, Poland allocated about 870MW of solar photovoltaic mounting bracket projects.
The bidding for solar and wind energy projects with a capacity of more than 1MW has ended. The solar bidder has won a 570MW project with a minimum bid of 0.20785 zloty/kWh (0.05072 USD/kWh), which is slightly lower than that in Poland earlier this year. The lowest bid price of the project. The total amount of onshore wind power winning bids is 460MW.
In another bidding for solar and wind power projects below 1MW, 182 participants submitted 401 bids, all of which were photovoltaic projects. The lowest bid price for this tender is 0.219 zloty/kWh (0.05344 USD/kWh), and it is planned to build a solar energy middle end clamp project with a total volume of about 300MW
Katarzyna Suchcicka, manager of OX2 Poland, said: "In order to reduce the price of electricity for Polish consumers and to reduce the local pollution of fossil energy, we need more and more wind energy and photovoltaic projects."
To help Poland achieve its environmental goals, the European Commission recently approved the extension of Poland’s renewable energy tender program until the end of 2027.
According to a research report published by the trade association SolarPower Europe last week, in 2020, Poland developed about 2.5GW of solar energy, and this year another 3.2GW was added. The association stated that in addition to the tender, favorable self-use plans and net metering systems have also promoted the development of photovoltaics in Poland. The tax rebate plan of the net metering system and the household system complement each other.
This year, solar developer Lightsource bp announced that the company will enter the Polish solar film clamp market through the cooperative development of the Polish 757MWp project. Earlier this year, independent power producer RP Global stated that the company is developing solar and wind energy projects in Poland and plans to deliver more than 1GW of projects.
