According to foreign media reports, researchers have developed a composite material panel that can be used as a photovoltaic cell to generate electricity from solar energy by mounting brackets, and at the same time as a structural supercapacitor to store energy.

In electric vehicles with ion-exchange rechargeable batteries, these panels can be used for body structures and form a hybrid energy storage system (HESS).
